Liaison interpreting

Liaison interpreting is an interpreting modality used to facilitate the flow of communication between small groups of people who speak different languages. The interpreter, located close to the participants in a meeting, translates what they say in both directions.

It is not necessary to install booths or other special equipment for interpretation, although in noisy environments the use of infoport systems is recommended.

This mode of interpreting is also known as bilateral interpreting, liaison or accompanying interpreting.
